Abstract: 73 psocid species currently known from Hungary are listed, with data on their occurence in different sections of Hungary, and with remarks on their geographical distribution in a wider sense. In the case of Dorypteryx domesticus (Smithers, 1958) the occurence in the wild, in Loensia pearmani Kimmins, 1941 the indication of the presence of a female produced sex pheromone in Psocoptera, demonstrated forty years ago by present author, and in Psococerastis gibbosa (Sulzer, 1776) the assumable considerable flying activity are worth to mention. Regarding to the species Ectopsocus briggsi McLachlan, 1899, Stenopsocus stigmaticus (Imhoff & Labram, 1846) and Oreopsocus montanus (Kolbe, 1884), open taxonomic questions appear to exist. Liposcelis mendax Pearman, 1945 and Oreopsocus montanus (Kolbe, 1884) are new to the fauna of Hungary.
